What is the ISDE subsidy?

The ISDE is a contribution towards the purchase costs of sustainable measures in and around your home. You receive a fixed amount that depends on the measure, the type of device, and the capacity. RVO publishes the applicable amount for each device (per notification code). Homeowners apply for the subsidy themselves with DigiD; business applicants and Owners' Associations (VvE's) use eHerkenning and have partly different rules.

For which measures can you apply for ISDE?

For homeowners, the ISDE applies to, among other things:

• Heat pumps: air-to-water heat pumps (both hybrid and all-electric) and ground-source heat pumps;
• Solar water heaters;
• Insulation measures such as roof, facade, floor, and glass insulation, with their own requirements;
• a connection to a district heating network.

Measures not covered by the ISDE include an air-to-air heat pump (an air conditioner), solar panels (for which 0% VAT applies), a home battery, a charging station, and a central heating boiler. Are you unsure about your situation? Check the RVO device list or ask us.

The main conditions

• You are the owner and occupant of the home where the measure is applied.
• The device is on the RVO device list and has a notification code.
• The installation is completed and paid for before you apply.
• You apply within the period that RVO uses after the installation date. Too late means no subsidy.
• The annual budget is limited: if it runs out, RVO can reject applications. So don't wait unnecessarily long.

Applying for ISDE: the step-by-step plan

1. Check if your measure is eligible. Ask your installer for the brand, type and notification code and look it up in RVO's equipment list.
2. Request a quote and have it installed. Make sure the quote states the exact device. At Energie Install, this is standard.
3. Pay the invoice and keep everything. You need the invoice AND proof of payment (e.g. a bank statement).
4. Log in to Mijn RVO with your DigiD. If you want someone else to submit the application, you can do so with an authorisation.
5. Fill in the application form and upload your documents. Check the installation date, address and notification code before sending.
6. Wait for the decision. RVO assesses the application and then transfers the amount. You can track the status in Mijn RVO.

Which documents do you need?

• Your DigiD (or an authorisation for the person applying);
• the invoice with your name, the installation address, the invoice and installation date and the brand, type and notification code of the device;
• a proof of payment of the invoice;
• your IBAN for payment;
• for insulation: data such as the insulated surface area and the insulation value, as requested by RVO.

If something is missing, RVO will ask for it and it will take longer. A complete invoice therefore saves time.

How much ISDE subsidy do you get?

This varies per measure and per device. For heat pumps, the amount depends, among other things, on the type (hybrid, all-electric or ground source) and the capacity. RVO lists the amounts per notification code in the equipment list. That is why we do not mention amounts on this page: they change and we do not want to give you an outdated figure. Common mistakes in the ISDE application

• Applying too late: after the RVO deadline, your right to subsidy expires.
• Applying before installation: as a homeowner, you only apply once everything has been installed and paid for.
• A device without a notification code: if the device is not on the list, there is no subsidy.
• An incomplete invoice: if the notification code, installation address, or date are missing, a request for information or a rejection will follow.
• Thinking an air conditioner counts: an air-to-air heat pump is not covered by the ISDE, but an air-to-water heat pump is.
